I have had no hot water in my bathroom for 1 year, and no hot water in my kitchen for the past 6 months (I live in a very old building with coal oven heating and electric boilers that didn't like it when the pipes froze or when I turned the water off to repair the toilet). I wash by boiling a kettle, filling an old enamel basin and pouring jugs of water over my head. Never have I wanted a bath more than I do today.
